~ Exodus 15:17 ~
“You will bring them in and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance, in the place, O Lord, which You have made for Your own dwelling. The sanctuary, O Lord, which Your hands have established”.
With the red sea behind them, the vast desert before them and a song of deliverance still sounding from their hearts, they were singing about the future before its foundation was even laid. Singing and seeing God Himself bringing them in, He Himself planting them in the mountain of His inheritance, planting them in the place where He had chosen for His own dwelling. In the place where the sanctuary which His hands had established would stand. Long before King David had desired to build a sanctuary and long before King Solomon actually built one, the people proclaimed it in their song of deliverance. They sang about the place where God had chosen as His inheritance and where His sanctuary would stand. Today we can look back in history and rejoice in God’s faithfulness and then look forward to the great things yet to be done to the glory of His holy name. Lift up your heads and rejoice that the Lord is good and His faithfulness endures through all generations.
