‘Moreover, He said, “I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.”
Through the ages God has always remembered his covenant with His people. When God revealed Himself to Moses, He referenced Abraham, Isaac and Jacob going back three generations to the original covenant. God referenced the foundation that set the framework within which He engaged Moses. First telling Moses, “I am the God of your father” and distinguished Himself from any other so there would be no ambiguity about who He (God) was and is. Moses later asked, what should I call you? “I AM WHO I AM”, God responded. I am your father’s God, the one none compares to, the sovereign ONE. When that foundation is removed, the rules of engagement change and there is no covenant provision.
.When God revealed Himself, Moses could no longer gaze upon Him, He hid his face afraid to look upon God, the very sight he had originally wanted to look at out of reverent fear. Same place, same man, same sight. What changed? God showed up, God revealed Himself! I trust that you will catch that revelation and may that revelation change what is regular into what is sacred and change the course of your destiny as you come face to face with the God of the universe, the sovereign ONE.
